ALWAYS BEEN YOUR FATHERS DAUGHTER

ALWAYS BEEN YOUR FATHERS DAUGHTER

When you were younger,
In pig tails
Always in trouble
They’d laughed and say,

“She’s just like her father.”

You’ve gained some years and
They’re all nervously watching
As your delicate footprints start to
Match up with his as you’re walking.
Now you look just like him,

“She’s the mirror image of her father.”

You inherited his freckles
His pale skin
His addiction.
It’s okay, you’ve always known
Since that day in Auguest, you were born.

“Poor girl has meth in her genes,

We knew she would be
Just like her daddy,

A meth addicted,
JUNKIE.”
